Meteab
Al-Jamhoor
is a Ph.D candidate at
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He has previously taught
English writing for EFL students. He has worked in the writing center at
IUP, and has conducted workshops that focus on the integration of
computer supported collaborative learning in ESL/EFL classrooms.
Meteab’s academic research interests are on Computer Assisted Language
Learning (CALL), Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL),
specifically on Computer Supported Collaborative Writing (CSCW) and
Building communities of knowledge constructors and Cross Cultural
Communication.
Meteab is the founder and director of the
Online Writing Collaboration Project (OWCp), which
is a meeting place on cyberspace for English teachers and learners from
all over the globe. Students from different cultural backgrounds join
daily to learn from and about each other. OWCp is administrated by
professors from different universities in USA, Middle East, Europe and
Far East.
Meteab’s personal interests include traveling, computer games, water
sports, bicycling, Football, Ping-Pong and volleyball. He can be reached by
